Deposits, protection packages and rental conditions in one place: driver age, payment card, fuel and driving abroad.

Deposit and insurance excess

The deposit equals the insurance excess and depends only on the car class. We block it on your card by pre-authorisation, so the money is not taken from your account.

The deposit for each car, with no package and with each package, is shown in the protection packages table.

Protection packages

A package lowers both the deposit and the excess. It must be bought before handover and cannot be added or changed during the rental.

When a package does not apply

In these cases you are liable for the full damage, whatever package you bought:

  • driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other psychoactive substances
  • driving without a valid licence at the time of the incident
  • exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 km/h
  • exceeding the payload or the number of passengers in the registration certificate
  • filling up with the wrong fuel
  • damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence

Payment card

  • Accepted: Mastercard, VISA, American Express, issued in the renter's name and valid at least three months beyond the end of the rental.
  • A debit card is enough for most cars, from the Škoda Fabia through crossovers, estates and SUVs such as the Opel Grandland to vans and 9-seat minibuses, provided you buy the Komfort Plus package.
  • Credit card only for: Audi A4, Cupra Formentor, Mercedes GLB, Volvo XC90 (classes D Premium, VAN, SUV MP, SUV DP, SUV Premium).
  • Not accepted: prepaid cards, Revolut, Maestro, ZEN, Girocard.

Fuel

The car is handed over with at least a quarter of a tank, and you return it with the same fuel level. You can also prepay for fuel: you get a full tank and can return the car at any level.

Driving abroad

Requires our written consent by email; verbal consent is not enough.

Tell us when you book, as the trip goes into the rental agreement. Driving to a country outside both zones is not allowed.

Optional extras

Delivery outside the city, handover or return outside opening hours, a different return place, an additional driver, a child seat, driving abroad and fuel prepayment. You see the price of each when you book.

Changing or cancelling a booking

Cancel by phone on +48 539 888 555 or by e-mail to rac@quantacars.pl. If you cancel at least 30 days before the rental starts, we refund 80% of the booking charges; at least 7 days before, 50%. Refunds are made within 14 days using the same payment method. The statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract does not apply to car rental for a fixed date (Article 38(1)(12) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act).

How to book

  1. Choose the place and dates in the search box.
  2. Pick a car. You see the price for the whole rental straight away.
  3. Add a protection package and any extras. You cannot add them later.
  4. Enter your details and pay upfront.
  5. We confirm the delivery address and time by phone.
  6. You sign the contract electronically at handover and receive the report by email.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the deposit?

From 4,000 PLN for a city car such as the Škoda Fabia, 5,000 PLN for crossovers, estates and most SUVs, up to 10,000 PLN for large premium SUVs such as the Volvo XC90. The deposit equals the insurance excess. It is blocked on your card by pre-authorisation, not charged to your account.

Do I need a credit card?

For most cars a debit card is enough if you buy the Komfort Plus package, which lowers the deposit to 400-700 PLN depending on the car. A credit card is mandatory for premium cars and large SUVs, for example the Audi A4, Mercedes GLA, Mercedes GLB and Volvo XC90. We do not accept prepaid cards, Revolut, Maestro, ZEN or Girocard.

What is the minimum age?

18 for most of the fleet, from the Škoda Fabia to SUVs such as the Opel Grandland, with a compulsory young driver surcharge for drivers under 21. From 21 you can also rent upper-mid and premium cars such as the Audi A4, Mercedes GLA and Toyota Camry, where the surcharge applies up to the age of 25. Large SUVs, 9-seat minibuses and 3.5-tonne vans are available from 26.

Can I take the car to another country?

Yes, with our written consent by email; verbal consent is not enough. Zone I covers Germany, Czechia, Slovakia and Lithuania, Zone II Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg. Tell us when you book, as the trip goes into the rental agreement.

What fuel policy applies?

The car is handed over with at least a quarter tank and you return it at the same level. You can also prepay for fuel: you get a full tank and can return the car at any level.

What does the Komfort package cover?

It halves the deposit and your excess for the first damage. It costs from 49 PLN a day in classes A and B up to 109 PLN in the Premium SUV class. Komfort Plus adds glass, tyres and wheels, and you no longer have to return the car washed on the outside.
